If you want to have a prosperous business, whether it’s just a side hustle right now or the full package, you have to treat your office space to prosperity. It doesn’t matter if your office is an extra bedroom in your home, a commercial space outside your home, or a desk in your dining room, when you design your space with intention, you are several steps ahead in creating the business you are working towards.
To bring in the energy of prosperity into YOUR office space, start with the following 5 feng shui tips to begin shifting your business into a more prosperous alignment.
1. Make sure your office space is clutter free. This will not only help you stay more organized but a clutter-free desk will also allow your creativity to flow more freely. So, take everything off of your desk and only keep on it the items you use daily. While working only keep out one project at a time, and clean up throughout the day as you transition from one task to the next. At the end of the day, transition to ‘personal time’ with a ritual clearing and putting away of all items. This way you get to come into a fresh, inviting work space the following day. And, if you work from home, this is especially important, to help create some separation from ‘work time’ to ‘family or personal time’.
2. Create good quality energy in the space. Fake it til you make it will not work here. Invest the time and effort into creating a space that you love to go to every day. A space that inspires your creativity and passion. You cannot create a thriving business if you are surrounded by an office that you hate.
3. Add a plant to your space. Adding a plant, or a few, to your office will breathe in a sense of fresh air with a vibrant quality as well as increase the oxygen level of the space, which is good for mental clarity. Pilea Peperomoides, commonly referred to as a Chinese coin plant, or a Money tree (Pachira Aquatica) are both easy to care for and good for an office space.
4. Get things flowing. Adding a water feature to the space is good feng shui for any office space. Wood is the element of abundance, and water nourishes wood, which equates to a healthier dose of it flowing your way. If you are going to add any type of a water feature, ALWAYS keep it clean and flowing. The water reflects your finances, so never let it stagnate or dry up. Another option would be to add a beautiful image of flowing water, a waterfall or river, just make sure the water is moving.
5. Something special. Find something that symbolizes wealth and abundance TO YOU and place it in a prominent area of your new office space. If you have the room, place it on your desk, but don’t let it get cluttered. Otherwise it can hang on the wall or sit on a shelf or put it on an altar, whatever you choose. As long as it is in a place that you can see it throughout the day to reinforce in your prosperity mindset.
